Congregation Beit Shalom, a Jewish synagogue in Visalia, CA is Porterville Nerd’s latest happy client.

Beit Shalom Visalia engaged the Nerd to update its prior stale web site which had not updated for over a year. The new web site, in addition to the custom design created to meet the needs of the Congregation, is easily updated because it consists of a WordPress backend that handles seamlessly laying out the data and the management functionality.

Now, when I receive the monthly calendar, I am able to update the web site with each of the stories simply by filing in a form for each one, and this takes a matter of an hour or so a month. In addition, if material is available during the month, new material can be added in minutes as needed.” Caplan said.

Caplan continued, “In addition to the new ease of administration and special design, there are many new features that the earlier site did not have at all. Photo galleries of precious memories, sophisticated search of content, RSS feeds, archives of old newsletters, driving directions from anywhere,  and more help the members of the Congregation stay connected, whether on their computer or browsing via their iPhones.”

Implementation of additional features for a second version are underway. Planned for the next round of development are automated payment of dues via e-commerce and additional search engine optimization.
